Since most polymers are not inherently stable to light, the studies of their photochemical behavior remain a subject of constant interest. In this study, we investigated the photoaging behavior of polymeric colloidal photonic crystal. Photoaging induces morphological changes in the materials surface, which would lead to the change of optical properties of the material. Herein, the chemical and structural modification of the surface of photonic crystal films was dealt with the deterioration behavior of optical properties (photonic bandgap) during the photoageing. And a plausible correlation between the evolutions of the optical properties with the surface changes during the photoaging was established. The chemical compositional modification of the materials surface was finally discussed. |
