1 dimensional nanostructures have received considerable attention due to their unique properties. In this work, chemically activated polyaniline-based carbon nanotubes (PA-NTs) were prepared to obtain a new type of carbon electrode materials for supercapacitor. Nitrogen-doped PA-NTs were prepared by coating polyaniline (PANI) onto the silica nanotubes by in-situ polymerization and subsequent carbonization at 850℃ and silica etching. It was found that the PA-NTs contained about 5% nitrogen group and showed a hollow structure. From BET result, the specific surface area and pore volume of the PA-NTs were significantly increased by chemical activation. In addition, activated PA-NTs (AC-PA-NTs) showed higher electrochemical performance compared to PA-NTs, resulting from the presence of highly porosity and pseudocapacitance effect. |
