A New Synthesis Route to Aromatic Copolyesters |

We have synthesized a series of copolyester oligomers by melt polymerization of Bisphenol-A (BPA) with the mixtures of isophthalic acid (IPA) and terephthalic acid (TPA) in varying ratios. The thermal crystallization (TC) of aromatic copolyester oligomer was studied in presence of different phosphate and phosphate ester additives for the first time. The aromatic copolyester oligomer crystallizes thermally in the presence of different phosphate and phosphate ester additives and further polymerized to high molecular weight by solid state polymerization (SSP). The aromatic copolyesters were characterized by solution viscosity and DSC. |
