VOCs are a typical air pollutant that threatens environment and human health. One of the most common ways to remove VOC is catalytic oxidation. Noble metal catalysts such as Pt, Pd, Au, Ag are considered as an effective way to remove VOC, since they have low activation temperature for VOC decomposition. Also transition metal oxides such as Cu, Ag, MnOx can be alternatives as VOC removal catalysts. In this study, toluene oxidation is selected as a VOC materials. And Cu/Ag on MnO2 are selected as a main catalyst to remove toluene in the air. To improve toluene removal efficiency Pt was added. Catalytic activity of toluene Cu/Ag/Pt on MnO2 was investigated. All catalytic oxidation of a toluene in the air, proceeds in the order of adsorption, following decomposition and then steady-state decomposition. Catalytic performance of prepared catalysts combination of metal catalysts and supports, are tested at the different reaction temperature to investigate VOCs removal performance. |
