3 mol% Yttria stabilized zirconia was prepared by co-precipitation method. The solution concentration was kept at 0.3 moles and precipitated by ammonium hydroxide. The precursors were dissolved in three different solvents as water, ethanol and mixture of butyl and ethyl alcohol, respectively. The precipitated hydroxide gel was oven dried and calcined. Therefore, the calcined powders were sintered at 1200, 1400 and 1500 ℃. The prepared samples were studied by TG-DSC, XRD and FE-SEM analysis and density was measured by Archimedes principle based on immersing method. After calcination, the tetragonal and cubic phases were shown in XRD pattern and density was increased with increasing temperature. In addition, the effect of solvents on synthesized nanopowder was reported in this study. |
