제목 Gold nanorod immobilized thermo-sensitive hydrogels for remote-controllable soft actuator
초록 Hydrogel soft actuators, which can reversibly change their shape in response to external energy, such as pH, electricity, heat, magnetic field, and ion strength,  have been utilized in sensors, drug delivery, artificial muscles, and soft robotics. In general, gold nanorods (AuNRs), known to rapidly convert light energy into thermal energy, have been proposed to be ideal candidates for various applications, such as a thermal-responsive soft actuator and artificial muscles. In this study, we designed remote-controllable hydrogels composed of a thermo-responsive PNIPAAm/AuNRs as a active layer and a poly(acrylamide) (PAAm) as a passive layer through UV irradiation. The gel fraction, equilibrium water content (EWC), morphologies, swelling-deswelling kinetics and mechanical properties were investigated. In addition, the photothermally-responsive bending properties were also evaluated.
