In this work, we prepared MgAl2O4-spinel powders as an epoxy filler to enhance thermal properties of epoxy composites. The magnesium aluminate spinel(MgAl2O4) was synthesized using metal nitrates, citric acid and ammonium solutions. And then, the precursors were heat-treated in an atmosphere control furnace at 900℃ for 1 h with a heating rate of 10℃/min. These calcined powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD). Effects of MgAl2O4 powders on curing behaviors and thermal stabilities of epoxy composites were studied by dynamic differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and, thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), respectively. Also, the thermal conductivity of epoxy/MgAl2O4 composites were investigated by laser flash apparatus(LFA). |
