Poly (butylene succinate) (PBS)/ titanium silicate (TS-1) zeolite nanocomposites were prepared by in situ polymerization without conventional catalyst. Thermal, mechanical properties and crystallization behavior were investigated by various methods. Zeolites have potential applications such as catalysts, adsorption agents. In this study, TS-1 zeolite was not only act as catalyst but also nucleating agent. TS-1 Zeolite contents in nanocomposites were 0.5~2wt%, respectively. Isothermal crystallization and nonisothermal crystallization behaviors were measured by DSC. The PBS/TS-1 zeolite nanocomposites shown higher crystallization temperature than Pure PBS. This result indicates that TS-1 zeolite enhances the crystallization rate of nanocomposites as nucleating agents. However, the increased zeolite contents are not directly proportion to crystallization rate. The dispersion of zeolite in PBS observed by TEM micrograph. As a results 2wt% filled nanocomposites shown poor dispersity. |
