제목 A highly Transparent and Self healable Elastomer Based on Heterocyclic Isosorbide Oligomer With Outstanding Mechanical Strength and Folding and Rolling Reliability
초록 A heterocyclic elastomer based on isosorbide oligomer (HEIO) is synthesized and its self-healing, optical, and mechanical properties are characterized in this study. A hydroxyl terminated oligomer based on isosorbide (IO) is synthesized and the mixture of IO and polyol (Po) is then reacted with crosslinker to prepare. One pot reaction of Po, isosorbide, and crosslinker is conducted to prepare a heterocyclic elastomer with randomly distributed isosorbides (HEIr). As a reference, conventional elastomer (CE) is also synthesized by reacting Po and crosslinker. Interestingly, HEIO exhibits superior self-healing and excellent mechanical properties compared with HEIr and CE. Moreover, HEIO demonstrates enhanced surface hardness than CE or HEI. These results are attributed to the unique supramolecular interaction between urethane groups and IOs. A model system is also developed to propose the mechanism for enhanced self-healing and mechanical properties using FT-IR spectroscopy.
