The Enhanced Performance of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Piezoelectric Nanogenerators |

The piezoelectric nanogenerator is a novel device that has been developed to convert mechanical vibration energy such as human physical motion, flow of air/water and acoustic/ultrasonic waves to electric power. Enhancing the output power of piezoelectric nanogenerator is important issue for a sustainable power source in mobile devices and wireless systems. In this study, we introduced inorganic semiconductor and π-conjugated polymer to enhance the piezoelectric performance of PVDF based nanogenerators. The p-n junction was formed at the interface between polymer and inorganic semiconductor. It acts as a pathway for charge transportation. As a result, the organic-inorganic hybrid nanogenerators produced 1.7 times higher output voltage and 1.6 times larger current density than PVDF only devices. |
