Dental properties of polymer composite filled with barium silicate hybridized with hydroxylapatite (HAP) which is an principal component of human bone material was investigated. A visible light system was utilized to activate the acryl resin matrix of composite. With an increase of HAP content in hybrid filler, mechanical properties of polymer composite including diametral tensile and flexural strength was slightly decreased. However, these values rise above the dental specifications enough to apply for dental materials. Depth of cure value was 5 to 6 ㎜ applicable for dental restoration irrelevant to hybrid filler composition. On the other hand, there was no strict trend between HAP concentration and polymerization shrinkage as well as degree of conversion. |
