제목 | Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Shape Memory Polymer Composites |
초록 | Shape memory polymers have many advantages compared with shape memory alloys, however, still need to overcome shape recovery force in some applications. We have tried to improve mechanical and shape memory properties by incorporating carbon nanotubes in shape memory polymer matrix. In this work, surface-modified carbon nanotubes were employed to strengthen interfacial interaction between nanotube and polyurethane. Morphology, physical properties, and shape memory behavior of nanotube-reinforced polyurethane nanocomposites are discussed in this presentation. SEM and TEM measurements showed relatively well-dispersed morphology of surface-modified nanotubes in the polyurethane matrix. According to tensile test and electrical conductivity measurement, modulus, stress at a fixed elongation, and conductivity of composites increased with increasing nanotube content. Improved shape recovery force could be demonstrated through incorporation of nanotubes in shape memory polyurethane. |
