제목 UV crosslinking of trans-polyoctylene (TOR)- Structure and characterization of shape memory properties by FT-IR, XRD and DSC
초록 The shape memory properties of UV cured semicrystalline elastomer (trans-polyoctylene, TOR) was characterized for their crystalline structure by XRD. Increase of crosslinking agent (CA) and irradiation time decreased the crystallinity. At 10% of CA, there was a complete disappearance of crystalline peak of TOR due to higher crosslinking. DSC experiment indicated shift in crystalline melting peak and crystallization peak towards lower temperature upon increasing the CA concentration and irradiation time. The enthalpy of (crystalline) melting decreased with increasing CA concentration and irradiation time, confirming the XRD results. The FT-IR spectra indicated the disappearance of double bond and formation of carbonyl group due to crosslinking and photo-oxidation, respectively. The shape memory properties of the moderately crosslinked TOR are better than either uncrosslinked or over crosslinked samples.
