Unexpected MOFs, [(MTCPP)(NHMe2)2](DMF)4 (M = Co and Cu), synthesized from DMF solvolysis |

The metal-organic framework [(MTCPP)(NHMe2)2](DMF)4 (M = Co and Cu) was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis. It is characterized by X-ray diffraction. Due to DMF solvolysis, the product contained dimethylamine ligands which are unexpected. This is the first reported case that unexpected porphyrin-based MOF is prepared due to DMF solvolysis. In the structure of [(MTCPP)(NHMe2)2](DMF)4, unusual strong hydrogen bonding network is adopted which is formed by dimethylamine ligands from DMF solvolysis. In the hydrogen bonding network, strong hydrogen bond between H atom in OH group and O atom in another molecule, strong hydrogen bond between H atom in NH group and O atom in another molecule and weak hydrogen bond between H atom in CH group and O atom in another molecule are contributing to the stable structure of the product. |
