The performance of organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) can be affected by grain size, orientation, and crystallinity of an organic semiconductor. These properties are usually determined by the surface property of a gate insulator. Many surface treatment approaches of a gate insulator were reported and hybridization method using different type of polymers also published. In the paper, we report synthesis of surface energy controlled polyimide copolymer through one-step condensation polymerization. As the dicarboxylic anhydride and diamine monomers, 5-(2,5-dioxytetrahydrofuryl)-3-methly-3-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride (DOCDA) and 4,4-diaminodiphenylmethane (MDA) were used, respectively. The monomer, 1-(3,5-diaminophenyl)-3-(1-octadecyl)-succinicimide), (DA-18-IM), was used to control the surface property of polyimide insulator. Detailed synthetic route and surface characterization of synthesized copolymer will be presentated. |
