제목 Preparation and Characterization of SIS Sheet for Wound Dressing
초록 Very recently, wound dressings are used as a temporary wound covering to promote wound healing and decrease wound contamination. Porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) as a new material mainly composed of collagen, glycosaminoglycan, and various growth factors, has been widely used as organ reconstructions without immuno-rejection responses. We prepared SIS sheets by spreading, making in several layers, and drying SIS at room temperature. The prepared SIS sheets were evaluated their mechanical characteristics such as flexibility, water absorption, tensile strength, elongation, zero-span, and whole blood clotting as various conditions -the kind, degree, and temperature of cross linkage- of them. From this study, SIS is regarded as an appropriate biodegradable material able to dress the wound like a burn in substitution of the traditional artificial composite materials and expected to be used as the biological dressings to increase shelf-life and lower cost.
