제목 Measurements of stiffness and Hardness of elastomers at high and low temperatures.
초록 In this study, we built a new hardness tester with a temperature control chamber to investigate the temperature effect on the hardness of elastomers. A IRHD (International Rubber Hardness Degrees) type hardness tester was used to measure the hardness of natural and synthetic rubbers at elevated temperatures. Also, the modulus was measured using a universal tester. The relationship between the hardness and the modulus was examined as a function of temperature. The temperature range for the test was from –70℃ to 150℃. The results showed that the modulus increased with increasing temperature.
