제목 Size-controlled, Monodisperse Janus Particle Surfactants with pH-Responsive Amphiphilic Properties
초록 Amphiphilic Janus particles can stabilize multiphasic fluids such as emulsions and foams due to their high adsorption energy. In particular, the ability to control the size and shape of Janus particles provide a powerful strategy to control their surface activity. In this work, we demonstrate a strategy to fabricate monodisperse amphiphilic Janus particles which enables to make stable Pickering emulsions of toluene and water. Size-controlled, monodisperse polystyrene (PS) / poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA). Effect of particle size and number of Janus particles on stability of Pickering emulsions were investigated. In addition, one side of Janus particle is composed of hydrophobic styrene, whereas the other side is rich in a pH-sensitive hydrophilic PMAA. Therefore, these Janus particles allowed to stabilize different types of emulsions, and induce phase inversion of emulsions in response to changes in solution pH.
