Effects of alkyl group of fatty acid in flow modifiers |
초록 |
In this work, we investigated the effects of flow modifiers in glass fiber reinforced polyamide 66 (PA 66/GF) composites. The flow modifiers with different molecular structures were successfully prepared by the reaction of dodecamethylenediamine and various fatty acids. The fatty acids used in the synthesis were stearic acid, myristic acid and decanoic acid. PA 66/GF composites were melt compounded and the prepared flow modifier was also compounded simultaneously while recording the resulting motor torque. Performance of flow modifier was evaluated using in-situ spiral flow mold and shear viscosities of the composites were investigated using capillary rheometer, respectively. The dodecamethylene bis decanoamide shows the most effective torque reduction in neat PA66 and reinforced PA66 composites. In 50wt% glass fiber filled composites, the torque during compounding has decreased approximately 18% at 1phr concentration of dodecamethylene bis decanoamide. Generally, the shorter the alkyl group of fatty acids showed more effective torque reduction and flowability. |
