For the sensitive and selective recognition of target biomolecules, it is very important to control the orientation and density of a recognition molecule, antibody, on nanomaterials of interest. Herein, we present a carbon nanotube (CNT) nanoprobe bearing a tandem antibody of which orientation and density are controlled for detection of cancer biomarkers on living cells. The CNT/tandem antibody nanoprobe exhibits intense Raman signature as well as near-infrared fluorescence, which are used as a signal transduction for detection of biomarkers. The CNT/tandem antibody nanoprobe shows higher affinity to a target molecule, compared to one bearing a random orientation of antibody. Finally, this nanoprobe was successfully applied to detection of cellular cancer biomarkers. |
