Organic solar cells (OSCs) are fascinating in the future solar cell industry due to low cost based on the advantage of solution process, and potential of numerous applications. However, OSCs have lower absorption property than other solar cells. To solve this problem, non-fullerene based OSCs that have higher absorption property especially in near infrared is used. Nevertheless, the absorption of short wavelengths is low and shows low power conversion efficiency (PCE), thus the innovative strategies must be applied for enhancing PCE. Quantum dots (QDs) are interesting inorganic materials because of size-dependable energy shift and outstanding optoelectrical properties. These effects make it possible to convert short wavelengths into long wavelengths that are absorption region of the active layer. In this study, QDs layer is introduced into non-fullerene based OSCs via solution process as an optical assistant. As a result, OSCs with QDs layer show better performance and enhanced PCE. |
