Tetra phenoxy dihydroxyl phosphorus phthalocyanine as environmental-friendly photoactive biocide |

The synthesis and photobiocidal effect of a tetra(p-(p’-methoxy-phenoxy)) dihydroxyl phosphorus phthalocyanine (p-MeO PhO)4PPc has been investigated by a combination of photophysical, photobleaching, and phototoxic methods. The (p-MeO PhO)4PPc shows a low aggregative tendency in DMSO solution with effective absorption of visible light. The phototoxic measurement indicates a singlet oxygen quantum yield of 0.69 of (p-MeO PhO)4PPc. The photobleaching test indicates the (p-MeO PhO)4PPc can fully decompose in 48 h under irradiation. It is helpful to reduce the harmful resident of the photobiocide. |
