Fabrication of Biosensor Using Electrospun Polyaniline Nanofibers |

Electrospinning has been widely used to generate polymer nanofibers of a large specific surface area. In this research the electrospun conducting polymer nanofibers were applied to the sensing materials because it took the high surface area to volume ratio. Polyaniline was synthesized and camphosulfonic acid was used as a dopant. The dopped polyaniline was mixed with poly(ethylene oxide), and the blended polymers in chloroform were electrospun. Non-woven mat nanofibers were peeled off from the collector. The fiber diameter was controlled changing the concentration of the solution, the flow rate, and the electric field (voltage/distance). Glucose oxidase was immobilized to this electrospun mat, and the mat was used as a sensing materials. |
