제목 PEG-based Conductive Hydrogels for Tissue Engineering Scaffold
초록 Conductive hydrogels composed of conductive polymer and polymer hydrogel gained interest in tissue engineering field, especially for cardiac and neural tissue scaffolds. Compromising environment similar to real tissue had regarded as key factor of tissue engineering, and conductive nature of real tissue requested conductive scaffold. PEG-based hydrogels are widely used as tissue culture scaffold granted by water friendly environment, while conductive polymer materials can give high conductivity with minimal toxicity. Photopolymerziation of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) by UV exposure resulted crosslinked hydrogel and conductivity was obtained by in-situ polymerization of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) within PEG hydrogel. poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid) (PSS)-containing PEG hydrogels and small amount of diluted sulfuric acid (H2SO4) assisted increasing conductivity. The surface of the PEG-based conductive hydrogel could be coated with cell adhesion peptides to overcome non-adherent traits of PEG hydrogel with negligible conductivity change. In vitro experiments with myocytes on developed hydrogels show no cytotoxicity and cell adhesion and proliferation were supported.
