Sucrose fatty acid esters are well known as bio-surfactants and nonionic surfactants consisting of sucrose as hydrophilic group and fatty acid as lipophilic group, and generally called sugar ester. One of the popular formulations is w/o emulsion in cosmetics. In w/o emulsions, water is the dispersed phase, oil the outer or continuous phase. It is more difficult to develop stable w/o emulsions as the viscosity of w/o emulsions decreased as time went on. In this paper we tried to make stable w/o emulsions using sucrose fatty acid ester. In results, Stable w/o emulsions were manufactured using gelling agent(conc. of glyceryl behenate/polyglyceryl-6 octastearate; 0.5%, 1.0%) in oil-phase. |
