The present work is to remove simultaneously N2O and NOx (x = 1 or 2) in the dual catalytic-beds reactor system using selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology under the reaction condition similar to exhaust gas from nitric acid work. The reactor is composed of zeolite catalyst bed for N2O and titania catalyst bed for NOx, and hydrocarbons and nitrogen-containing gases are employed as reductants, respectively. The study for removal of these nitrogen oxides has been carried out with various reaction conditions of space velocity, temperature, feeding ratio of reductant to nitrogen oxides, and operating pressure. In addition, arrangement of two catalytic beds and preparation of structured catalyst (foam or honeycomb type) are also considered. |
