제목 Air-stable, surface-oxide free Cu nanoparticles for highly conductive Cu ink and their application to printed electronics
초록 Solution-processed functional materials that can be combined with various direct printing techniques have recently attracted increasing interest for use in low cost, high performance integrated electronics, micro- and macro-electronics. Direct printing methods are relatively cheaper, simpler and environmentally friendly compared to the traditional lithographic techniques. In particular, copper nanoparticles as a functional materials for conductive ink is growing attention as a cheaper option in comparison to the expensive noble metal nanoparticles (Au, Ag). In this study, surface-oxide free copper nanoparticles were synthesized by solution-reduction method. They showed the bimodal size distribution with the size of 40~50 ㎚ and 80~100 ㎚. Stable ink is prepared for printing purpose from these oxide-free copper nanoparticles. The dispersion stability of copper nanoparticles ink was studied by laser transmission and backscattering methods. Copper nanoparticle ink showed the good dispersion stability. Highly conductive films were fabricated from prepared copper nanoparticle ink by tape-casting method. The effect of sintering temperature on electrical resistivity was studied after heat treatment of conducting film. Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) printing with copper nanoparticle ink rendered fine patterns. Due to the high electrical conductivity and fine printing characteristics, copper nanoparticle ink prepared from oxide-free Cu nanoparticles showed the potential application for various electrodes in display, solar cell, and electronic device.
