Copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) have attracted much attention due to not only their potential applications such as catalysts, optoelectronics, and absorbents based on their unique chemical and physical properties, but also the low cost resulted from the sustainability of abundant resources. In this work, a simple, environmentally friendly, and cost effective method for preparing highly stable CuNPs is reported. We have particularly focused on the replacement of ionic liquids with low cost organic salts. In the search for candidates, ethanolammonium sulphate derived from disposal process of monoethanolamine (MEA) with sulfuric acid has been challenged for the role of ionic liquids in previous report. |
