TiO2 has been widely used as an effective photocatalyst for environment purification. Numerous studies have been focused on its unique performance in photodegradation of organic pollutants. Silver has been known since ancient times as a very effective antimicrobial agent. In this study, PAN/TiO2 fiber mats were fabricated from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and Ti(OBu)4 (titanium (IV) butoxide) using an electrospinning method. PAN/TiO2 mat containing Ag nanoparticles was fabricated from AgNO3 solution using an E-beam irradiation. The E-beam was generated with a 1.14 MeV acceleration voltage, 4 mA of current, and a 20 - 100 kGy absorbed dose. The surfaces of mat were observed by SEM. The chemical compositions of the mats were analyzed using an energy dispersive spectroscopy. |
