Developing electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) with high activity, stability, and low cost is a significant challenge. Their performance is essentially affected by the support as they strongly influence the electrocatalyst performance, durability, and efficiency by conditioning the characteristics of active sites and reactivity. It is well known that carbonaceous support materials are widely utilized due to their low cost, high electrical conductivity, and readily controllable morphologies. Herein, we developed a facile synthesis method in preparing planar hierarchical carbon support via pyrolysis of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) nanoplate. The carbon support exhibited hierarchical porous structures, facilitating mass diffusion to yield high performances. |
