Particle systems are used in many industrial applications. They form broad spectrum of microstructures during processing, sometimes aggregating to form a stable microstructure. This is more pronounced when the size of the particle decreases to nanometer scale. Many studies have been focused on the equilibrated state. However, processing always pushes the particles in the nonequilibrium state, and little has been done to understand the flow behavior and the microstructural change under flow environment. This study focuses on the flow behavior of particle systems and the relationship of the microstructural change and rheology. More focus will be given to aggregating systems in nonlinear flow environment. |
