제목 Hydrodynamic flow induced strip pattern of PS/PMMA blend films under positive corona discharge
초록 We introduce a simple self-assembled process, scanning corona discharge coating (SCDC), to fabricate ordered strip patterns of polymer film on the flat gold substrate using corona discharge. This new patterning method is based on a control of the hydrodynamic flow and the directional evaporation of solution contained polymers under gradient corona discharge. Needle-plate type corona discharge generator was used in this experimental. A corona discharge was generated from the tungsten needle under high voltage. Using Poly(methylmethacrylate)(PMMA)(Mw=47600g/mol) and polystyrene(PS) (Mw=48000g/mol), well aligned line patterns with controllable periodicity were obtained after SCDC. The intensity of a corona discharge and the moving velocity of corona tip were major factor to determine a periodicity of strip pattern. Also we observed the ordered phase separation in the PS/PMMA blend films fabricated by SCDC. This facile approach opens up a new avenue for non-lithography patterning.
