Influence of silane treatment on mechanical behaviors of alumina nanofiber/epoxy nanocomposites |

In this study, ANFs were modified with silane coupling agent to investigate the effects of interfacial interaction between the modified ANF and epoxy matrices on the mechanical properties of ANF/epoxy nanocomposites. The morphologies and structures of the composites were observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The surface characteristics were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The mechanical properties were determined by measuring the impact strength and calculating the critical stress intensity factor (KIC). |
