제목 Research Trend of CO2 Capture and Mineralization in Iron and Steel Industry
초록 In this talk the research trend related to CO2 capture and mineralization in iron and steel industry following the relevant CO2 capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) research activities at Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology (RIST). The iron and steel industry is regarded as one of the largest CO2 emitters in the industrial sector. However, the industry endeavors to apply recent technologies to reduce CO2 emissions, primarily focused on the energy efficiency improvement. Moreover, research and development activities are conducted to drastically reduce CO2 emissions to cope with the global anticipation and its sustainability. Some technologies such as CO2 capture using solvents, CO2 conversion into chemical products (polymers and carbonates, etc.), are to be discussed. Although CCUS technology shows seemingly slow progress for CO2 reduction, the technology development as a key driver for CO2 reduction should go on.
