Core-shell molecular imprinting polymer (average diameter 100-250 microns) is used to separate heavy metal ions from waste water. In this work, core-shell polymer beads containing heavy metal ions are prepared by suspension polymerization for core (poly styrene-co-divinyl benzene) and precipitation polymerization for shell layer (poly methacrylic acid containing heavy metal ions-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate). Various different ratios between monomer and cross-linking are chosen to research effect of recognition elements. HPLC is used for studying column analysis to survey the selectivity of the separation of heavy metal ions. SEM, AAS, TGA, XDS and some other methods are also used for analysis goals of this work. |
