We synthesized oligoaniline-containing diblock, triblock, and multiblock copolymers and studied their self-assembly behaviors. Their rigid-flexible or rod-coil type strctures yielded various morphological structures such as smectic-like lamellar crystals, vesicles, and puck-like micelles, varying with their oxidation states and copolymer architectures. We demonstrated reversible voltage-responsive switching between vesicles and micelles of amphiphilic rod-coils consisting of tetraaniline and polyethylene glycol moieties. Multiblock polymers comprised of heptaaniline and alkylene moieties were used to synthesize a nanocomposite materials with gold nanocrystals via an in-situ redox method. Organic memory characteristics of the composites were demonstrated. (This research was supported by the Program for Integrated Molecular Systems at GIST) |
