Polyamide 6 is one of the most widely used engineering plastics in fims, fibers and packaging industries because of their excellent properties on ductility, toughness, durability and cost. Besides PA6 can be polymerized through in-situ polymerization. In this study, we introduced a reactive extrusion process to polymerize polyamide 6. Also, diamine chain extender was introduced to modify structure of polyamide 6. Modified PA6/diamine polymer were successfully polymerized from theirs own monomers by a reactive extrusion process. Their structrue and several properties were examined using some useful experiments. Molecular weight and their mechanical properties were improved by introducing diamine chain extenders. |
