제목 | Dynamic Mechanical Properties of UV-Curable Polyurethane Dispersions |
초록 | Waterborne UV-curable polyurethane dispersions(UV-PUD) systems are relatively new, pollution-free process in which a specially formulated coating is cured by means of high-energy electrons. UV-PUDs don`t pollute air, and cut costs. Advantages of UV curing include fast curing, absence of volatile organic componets(VOCs), much reduced energy consumption, greater productivity and room temperature cure. An UV curable system is prepared from reactive urethane oligomer, reactive diluents, and photoinitiators. Isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer is reacted with an hydroxylated acrylate such as 2-hydroxyethylacrylate(HEA) or 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, and is then dispersed into water using a tertiary amine, triethylamine(TEA), as a neutralizing agent for the carboxylate function viz, dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA). In this experiment, we have studied the effect of ionic content and prepolymer chain length, functionality of the hydroxy acrylate in terms of mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of the UV-curable PUD. |
