제목 | Surface modification of iron oxide using 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone |
초록 | N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone polymers (PVP) have been extensively used, especially in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, textile and food industry as well as for numerous technical application.1 Magnetic nanoparticles have been widely studied because of their potential application in biomaterial field such as target-drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging.2 Also the surface of the magnetic nanoparticles can be modified by other functional molecules. At first, 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone(VP) iron oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by thermal decomposition of Iron(lll) acetylacetonate (Fe(acac)3) in VP. (Figure 1) and results of surface coordination of the magnetic nanocrystals obtained. And then polymerization of VP was performed. The crystalline structure of VP-coated iron oxide nanoparticles was determined by XRD, FTIR. The size of VP-coated iron oxide nanoparticles was determined by TEM, ELS. The prepared PVP-coated iron oxide nanoparticles can be used in biomedical field. Fig 1.
