제목 Bio-inspired paper waste aerogel with improved oileophilicity and strength via engineer cross-linking for oil-water separation
초록 The direct utilization of waste paper (cellulose) to form useful product (Aerogel) for oil-water separation is an attractive approach. Aerogel is used for heavy metal removal, oil-water separation, and many other applications. However, this reaction is limited by low absorption capacity, low stability, and high density of aerogel. For now, the silica aerogel are used to solve these problem. However, the main issues are brittleness, gel formation, drying is a critical step, and hard to control porosity. Considering these limitation, our main goal is to replace silica aerogel by using easily available waste paper (cellulose) to form uniform high porosity aerogel by optimizing the reaction conditions. Interestingly a remarkable improvement under normal conditions towards oil-water separation was observed owing to its strongly interconnected pore structure, low density, high flexibility, and good mechanical strength.
