제목 Carboxylic modified cellulose nano fiber incorporated polyvinyl alcohol nanocomposite membrane for pervaporation dehydration of isopropanol
초록  Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) has been widely used as membrane material for pervaporation dehydration of various solvent. A critical barrier to its use is a lack of sufficient mechanical properties in water containing feed system. To overcome this problem, in this work PVA membrane was fabricated by reinforcement of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) matrix by cellulose nanofibers(CNF) incorporation. And PVA/CNF nanocomposite membranes showed that, incorporation of even small amounts of nanofibers (as low as 2% by weight) had significantly increased in mechanical properties of membrane. Swelling degree and contact angle test was performed to assess the CNF’s impact on the PVA membrane`s hydrophilicity and found to be increment in hydrophilic property of the PVA membrane with CNF incorporation. In Pervaporation test, with 80:20 w/w ratio Isopropyl alcohol (IPA):water feed system at 40°C showed higher separation factor with negligible difference flux was observed.
