제목 Methyl acetate synthesis by esterification on the modified Ferrierite: Effects of K, P, Zr modifier to catalytic activity
초록  The methyl acetate synthesis by the esterification of methanol with acetic acid was investigated to elucidate the effects of acid site modifiers of K, P, Zr on H-form Ferrierite (Al/Si = 20). The active sites for esterification are generally known to be bronsted acid sites with a proper acidic strength. Therefore, Ferrierite zeolite, which has a strong bronsted acid sites, was previously modified using an impregnation method, and the catalysts was denoted as M/Ferrierite, where M is for K, P, Zr with 1wt%. The reaction was carried out at a batch reactor at 2.0 MPa and 373 K. Among the tested catalysts, the superior activity was observed on the P/Ferrierite. The surface properties of the modified Ferrierite were further characterized using XRD, NH3-TPD and Py-IR analyses.
