Ethylene has been largely used in the petrochemical industries for the preparation of polyethylene, ethylene oxide, ethylene dichloride, etc. In addition, diethylether(DEE) has been recently reported as an oxygenated additive for diesel fuel to alleviate NOx emission. In the present study, the hybridized zeolites were prepared by using two different zeolites of Ferrierite and ZSM-5 by changing the synthesizing orders and the catalysts were tested for the dehydration of ethanol. Type (I) catalyst was synthesized by adding previously prepared H-Ferrierte during ZSM-5 synthesis, and type (II) was synthesized by adding H-ZSM-5 during Ferrierite synthesis. The conversion of ethanol and product distribution were measured to verify the preparation methods of hybridized zeolites, and NH3-TPD, power XRD and BET analysis were used to characterize the physicochemical properties of zeolites. |
