In this work, the producing of a poly(ethylene oxide) containing indomethacin was prepared by an electrospinning method was investigated. The effect of indomethacin added to the PEO on the morphologies, fiber distribution, and release behavior was studied. The resultant diameter distribution and morphologies of nanofiber webs were evaluated by SEM. The presence of indomethacin in the nanofiber webs was confirmed by FT-IR spectra. The release behaviors of indomethacin from the nanofiber webs were examined by an UV/vis spectroscopy. As a result, the features of electrospun nanofiber webs could be adjusted by manufacturing condition, such as the specific ranges of concentration of PEO solutions, apply voltage, and indomethacin concentration. The release behaviors of nanofiber webs containing indomethacin were dependent on the concentration of indomethacin in PEO solutions. |
