Control of Quantum Dot Nano-Location within the Nanowires Formed by Crystallization-Driven 1D Growth of Hybrid Dimeric Seeds |

In this talk, I will present a simple and robust route to produce the hybrid NWs of P3HT-based polymer/QDs with controlled nano-location of QD array. The influence of P3HT regioregularity (RR) on the solution-state self-assembly behavior of P3HT-b-P2VP block copolymers and the coaxial arrangement of the QDs in the hybrid NWs. The mechanism for growth evolution into hybrid NWs was elucidated by systematic TEM experiments. Significantly, the nano-location of QD array into desired domains of the P3HT-b-P2VP NW can be precisely controlled by tuning (1) the RR value of the P3HT core block, (2) the relative lengths of the P2VP block and (3) the surface chemistry of the QDs. The fabrication methods and characterizations for both crystalline fibrils and their hybrid NWs offer a useful strategy for fine-tuning the optical and electrical properties of organic-inorganic hybrid materials. |
