제목 Modification of interface between photoelectrodes and electrolytes and its effects on the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells
초록 Though dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on nanoporous TiO2 films are still in relatively early stages of development, they show great promise as an inexpensive alternative to costly silicon solar cells. Unlike other solar cells, n-type semiconductor (TiO2) electrode is directly contact with the hole conductor (electrolyte) in DSSCs. This causes the recombination between the photoinjected electrons and ions in the electrolyte, leading to a reduction in efficiency. Therefore, the recombination should be prevented to improve the efficiency of DSSCs. In this study, the surface of TiO2 photoelectrodes was modified by soaking it in an aqueous metal chloride solution and then calcining to produce the surface-treated TiO2 photoelectrodes. We investigated effects of the modification using various metal chlorides on the performance of DSSCs.
