Performances of triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) devices have been known to depend on the materials with different triboelectric charges. Among the materials, fluorinated polymers have been widely used as a negatively-charged source in polymer-based TENG. However, the effects of molecular structure of fluoro-polymers with different fluorine units for the performances of TENG devices are still elusive. In this study, we investigate triboelectric properties of different fluoropolymers for transparent and self-powered TENGs. We find that fluoropolymers with controlled fluorine units and molecular weights lead to different TENG performances, which is different from previously reported literatures. Interestingly, the TENG performances are modified by tuning dielectric constant of the polymer film. Furthermore, to enhance the TENG performances, we investigate various micro-structured surfaces structures based on solution-processed fluoro-polymers. |
