Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT:PSS) has many attractive properties such as high conductivity, transparency, remarkable stabilities. PEDOT is such a low band gap semiconducting polymer. The band gap of PEDOT is below 1.5 eV in the undoped state. After doping, doped PEDOT has high electrical conductivity, excellent chemical and environmental stability. These advantages have attracted considerable attention in organic electronic devices. We fabricated dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) devices with thermal treated PEDOT:PSS as counter electrodes. The DSSC devices using PEDOT:PSS as counter electrodes have the lower production cost and more simple fabrication process than that of Pt, however, these devices have lower conversion efficiency in same manner. The overall power conversion efficiencies of DSSC devices using counter electrodes based Pt, PEDOT:PSS (thermal treated at 45 ~ 120oC for 20 min or 720 min), or PEDOT:PSS were 3.55 %, 2.40 ~ 3.22 %, respectively. |
