광증폭소자용 재료로서의 Er이 첨가된 유/무기 하이브리드 재료의 광학적 특성 |
초록 |
Optical amplifier is required to compensate the optical loss during optical telecommunication. In particular, Er doped waveguide amplifiers have become a topic of great interest for the integrated optical devices. For achieving optical amplification in a planar waveguide with small dimensions, high Er concentrations are required. However, the high doping of Er might be resulted in the non-radiative relaxation by clustering of Er ions and co-operative upconversion. In order to solve this problem, we investigated the possibility of avoiding short Er-Er distances by encapsulation of Er3+ ions within zirconium oxo cluster formed in alkylsiloxane network. In this experiment, methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPTS), zirconyl chloride octahydrate and erbium(Ⅲ) chloride hexahydrate or Er-Zr double alkoxide were used as starting materials, followed by conventional sol-gel process. The photoluminescence properties of erbium doped zirconium oxo cluster-alkylsiloxane will measured and discussed with the concentration of Zr(Er)/MPTS mole ratio and heat-treatment temperature. Refractive index and optical loss of above materials was obtained by prism coupler after spin-coating and curing on Si wafer. |
