The effect of PEG on gas permeation properties for APTEOS hybrid membrane |

3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTEOS) / PEG hybrid membranes were formed by sol-gel process on the porous polysulfone(PSf) support. When APTEOS was only used coating material, dense film was obtained. Therefore, pore size could be controlled by addition of PEG to APTEOS. The gas permeation properties of the hybrids have been investigated and the results are discussed in relation to the molecular weight and content of PEG. The hybrid membranes show higher permeability coefficients and selectivities than APTEOS membrane. |
